More than $9 billion in major improvements and $4.5 billion in downtown development alone, there is a whole new Kansas City! This includes the new downtown entertainment and nightlife district called The Power & Light.
The Convention Center is now home to one of the 10 largest convention center ballrooms in the country. The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has dramatically changed the downtown skyline.
The City Power & Light District which is a neighbor of the new Sprint Center, is an eight-block, 24 hour-a-day entertainment destination. The state-of-the-art, 18,500-seat Sprint Center is home to major sporting events and concerts. The College Basketball Experience features interactive exhibits and a hoops hall of fame.
Nelson Atkins Museum, the new National WWI Museum at Liberty Memorial, are both unique museum experiences. The nationally acclaimed Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art unveiled its new Bloch Building in 2007. and the WWI museum has gone through a major renovation.
